Mountain Biking

Find trails, check conditions, plan routes

Mountain biking apps provide trail maps, condition reports, and difficulty ratings specific to riding. These tools help you find trails, check current conditions, and discover new routes through community activity data.

  • Trailforks Web App — the primary resource for mountain bike trail information. Detailed maps, conditions, difficulty ratings, and GPS tracks for trails worldwide.
  • MTB Project Web App — community-contributed mountain bike trail database with photos, GPS tracks, and condition reports. Acquired by OnX in 2024; trail data now flows into the OnX platform, but the original site remains live and useful for browsing trails and reading community reports.
  • Strava Web App — activity tracking and route planning with heatmaps showing popular riding segments. Useful for discovering trails, planning routes, and tracking ride statistics. The heatmap feature is particularly valuable for finding trails that don't appear on other platforms.
