Climbing & Mountaineering

Route databases, peak info, and beta from the community

These resources cover climbing routes, peak information, and trip reports for rock climbing, bouldering, and mountaineering. Whether you are planning a day at the crag or a summit bid on a fourteener, these are the tools climbers rely on for route beta and conditions.

  • Mountain Project Web App — massive climbing route database with topos, photos, and community beta. Rock climbing, bouldering, alpine routes -- all across North America. Acquired by OnX in 2024; route data now flows into the OnX platform, but the original site remains live and useful for browsing routes and contributing community beta.
  • 14ers.com Web App — detailed route descriptions, conditions reports, and photos for Colorado's 14,000-foot peaks. Colorado-specific but an essential resource for anyone climbing in the state. Includes difficulty ratings, class breakdowns, and seasonal conditions.
  • PeakBagger Web App — peak lists, summit logs, and climbing statistics. Track your progress on peak lists like state highpoints, prominence lists, and regional collections. Browse trip reports and compare ascent records.
  • SummitPost Web — mountain encyclopedia with route descriptions, trip reports, and photos for peaks worldwide. Community-driven with detailed information on approaches, conditions, and climbing history.
