What it costs to keep TrekFreely running, and where donations go.
TrekFreely is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (tax identification number 42-2047209). Nobody is paid. Every hour of development, operations, and content work is volunteered, so the figures below are the platform's actual out-of-pocket costs: servers, email and text delivery, domains, edge security, and the tooling that keeps the service safe.
We publish these numbers as we go rather than once a year. The current period is a running total and will change; a period that has been closed out is final.
Operating costs
Our tax-exempt status took effect on April 21, 2026. Figures for the first reporting period are being compiled and will appear here.
